ICYMI

WAY TO GLO!

I love a good DIY beauty product, especially when it comes to products that are gentler than the store-bought version and can help me save time when I feel exhausted at the end of the day.

This is where DIY eye makeup remover pads come to the rescue. They're not only gentle on your delicate eye area but also super effective at removing even the most stubborn mascara and eyeshadow. With just a few ingredients, you can make them at home. And they are extremely handy and easy to use.

Ingredients:

  1. Airtight container

  2. Round cotton pads

  3. Natural oil (such as coconut oil, olive oil, or jojoba oil)

  4. Water

  5. Baby shampoo or gentle cleanser

Steps to Your DIY Eye Makeup Remover Pads:

Step 1: Prepare Your Container

Choose an airtight container that's big enough to hold the cotton pads. Make sure it's clean and dry before starting.

Step 2: Mix Your Solution

In a separate bowl, mix equal parts of water and your chosen natural oil. For added skin benefits and soothing properties, you can also add a teaspoon of aloe vera gel to the mix. Aloe vera is known for its calming and hydrating effects.

Step 3: Add a Drop of Cleanser

To enhance the cleansing power of your solution, add just a drop of baby shampoo or a gentle facial cleanser. This will help break down stubborn eye makeup without irritating your skin.

Step 4: Soak the Cotton Pads

Place your round cotton pads in the airtight container and pour your solution over them. Gently press the pads down to ensure they soak up the mixture.

Step 5: Seal and Store

Seal the container tightly and store it in a cool, dry place. Your DIY eye makeup remover pads are now ready to use whenever you need them.

How to Use Your DIY Eye Makeup Remover Pads:

Gently swipe a pad over your closed eyelid to loosen and remove eye makeup. The combination of natural oil and cleanser will break down even waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

Use a separate pad for each eye to prevent cross-contamination.

If you're wearing heavy eye makeup, you may need to use an additional pad or repeat the process until all traces of makeup are gone.

Afterward, rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry.

With these DIY eye makeup remover pads, you can effortlessly and economically remove even the most stubborn eye makeup without the need for harsh commercial products. Plus, you have the satisfaction of knowing exactly what goes into your skincare routine. These pads are gentle on your eyes and are suitable for all skin types. So, go ahead, pamper your peepers, and say goodbye to raccoon eyes after a long day of fabulous makeup looks!

Like this stuff? It would mean the world to me if you can share with your friends and family! Your support is the best kind of motivation 😃 😃 😃 😃

GLO ABOVE & BEYOND

When Ju Rhyu started out her prototype for the mighty acne patches with just a sheet of parchment paper in 2017, she probably never imagined how deep into the skincare category she would go.

Fast forward six years, and, with a successful exit later, Rhyu is now looking to leverage the success of her brand’s OG Mighty Patch into a comprehensive problem-solving skincare portfolio.

Hero Cosmetics, the skincare company that Rhyu started, has seen a remarkable journey since its launch in 2017. Just last year, the company was sold for a staggering $630 million to Church & Dwight. More recently, though, the Hero brand achieved an impressive milestone of one billion hydrocolloid patches sold.

Hero's post-acquisition expansion has seen it venture beyond the U.S., entering markets in Canada, Australia, the U.K., and even making its debut in a French pharmacy in Paris. With Church & Dwight's backing, the brand leverages existing infrastructure and distribution networks in key markets. Expansion plans include entering Mexico and the Middle East, capitalizing on untapped opportunities in these regions.

The brand's U.S. retail presence has also grown, securing spots in Walmart, Target and 4,500 CVS Pharmacy locations. Each new retailer partnership broadens Hero's customer base, as 70% of consumers initially engage with a Mighty Patch product, and 60% of them subsequently explore additional products within the brand's portfolio. This strategy positions patch products as an acquisition engine, enabling cross-selling and encouraging consumers to develop a complete Hero regimen.

Hero recently unveiled Mighty Patch Forehead, an extension of its full-face Mighty Patch, responding to consumer demand for targeted solutions. In 2024, Hero will delve into the balm category, introducing two stock-keeping units—one with a focus on cleansing and the other emphasizing moisturization.

“I believe this brand can exist beyond acne; our next goal is to be the leader in functional skin solutions,” Rhyu said during an interview. “As a team, we’re always talking about, ‘How high is high? Where’s the limit?’ — so far, we don’t see it.”
